There’s a major storm brewing here in Massachusetts, as I’m sure you’ve heard. We’re supposed to get between two and three feet, which is just enough to tip most seasoned New Englanders into an “I’ve never seen snow before” panic. Happy New Year! Now that the holidays are over, the only thrilling thing about winter is the sun setting a little later each day. That, and Friends is finally on Netflix.
But, seriously, I hope you had a relaxing start to 2015 and survived the first Monday of the year. I’m staying warm on the couch tonight as it’s a nippy 23 degrees in Massachusetts – it feels weird to finally have seasonably cold weather. This is an instant classic. A dad is worried his tots might be getting spoiled, so he lets them each open one (lousy) gift each a couple weeks before Christmas. Remember their reactions in case you get a well-intentioned but terrible gift this holiday season:
Mondays don’t have to suck, and neither does winter. Even though the sun is setting ridiculously early and it’s hard not to put your pajamas on at six, there’s a lot to like about this time of year. With hibernating season upon us, it’s time to fire up the old blog again. When the weather gets freezing, we all spend significantly more time indoors, and with time indoors comes time online. So as to put that time online to all of our best use, I’ll make an effort to blog every weekday and you can try to check when you have time.
So Monday’s finally over, every American’s favorite food-centric holiday is almost upon us, and it’s cold enough that you don’t have to justify to anyone why you can’t make it to the gym. Let’s get back at it. Follow the jump for more. (more…)
